After graduating from university and bouncing between jobs, I took a break to live in a quiet town on the prairies. I needed a mental breather, time to figure out what I really wanted in life. But instead of finding clarity, I realized that the isolation and stillness weren’t for me. I thrive in a fast-paced environment, where every day brings something new.
So, I came back to Toronto. I wasn’t financially ready, but I took a gamble because I knew the city was where I belonged. The idea for Toronto Girl was born out of that “sink or swim” mindset. While selling a few products to people around my neighborhood, I noticed that specific designs resonated, and the demand for them grew. I saw an opportunity—and I jumped in.
I want Toronto Girl to embody that same feeling for others—whether you’re new to the city or chasing your dreams here, it’s exciting, a little scary, but absolutely worth it.
